About Us
Growing concern over the world's ever-increasing energy needs, air pollution and the prospect of rapidly dwindling reserves of oil and natural gas have prompted efforts to develop viable alternative energy resources. Many countries have initiated programs to invest in pollution-free renewable energy ("green") technologies that would enable them to phase out in an orderly fashion their dependence on fossil fuel and its attendant problems. Technologies being actively pursued are those designed to make wider and more efficient use of the plentiful and highly distributed energy resources such as wind. The challenge has been the cost-effective conversion of this distributed energy into electricity, as opposed to the conventional approach of relying on highly concentrated fossil fuels.
WindSource Energy Systems
WindSource Energy Systems was created to address two key elements within the alternative energy sector. These key elements are power generation efficiency and cost of production.
Product Highlights
- Revolutionary patented design
- Silent operation and small footprint
- Point of use applications - can be installed right where the power is needed
- Windsource turbines are able to generate electrical energy with relatively low wind speeds making the system usable in less than desirable or conventionally non-productive wind sites
- WindSource turbines are projected to lower electrical production costs by one third of conventional wind turbines while increasing electrical production time by 50 percent
Mission Statement
It is our vision to develop and market revolutionary wind technology products. It is our passion to make a difference in a growing global market that clearly recognizes the need for renewable energy technologies. It is our opportunity to participate internationally in what is fast becoming a major "growth sector" of the twenty-first century.
Location
WindSource Energy Systems is a division of Renewable Utilities (Singapore) Pte. Limited. WindSource Energy System turbines will be featured as a part of the renewable technology demonstration site established as Renewable Utilities (Australia) Pty. Limited.
Revenue
Currently, wind power costs between 3 and 5 cents per kWh to generate. By 2010, it is expected to be closer to 2 cents, making it one of the cheapest resources available. Windsource turbines are projected to have an electrical production cost of less than one cent in the first year of production.
Revenue Highlights
- Worldwide there are more than 39,000 megawatts (Mw) of wind power installed and this is expected to increase five fold by 2010
- As oil hovers around $50USD per barrel many countries are forced to initiate programs to develop pollution-free renewable energy ("green") technologies
Conclusion
Renewable energy is a growth industry with rapid return on investment for entrepreneurial companies marketing technology which address renewable energy issues. As the cost of conventional technological systems continue to rise, alternative cost-competitive green energy products become very attractive. Companies that are well positioned during this "green technology" transition period will be tomorrow's green industry leaders.
